Children's Choir
For this year, we will be forming a Children’s Choir to join the Adult Choir on Palm Sunday, April 5, 2009 at the 10:30 AM Mass
This choir is open to children in Kindergarten through Grade 5.  The children will only need to learn a part to one song so we will only require two rehearsals.  The first rehearsal will be Thursday, March 26 at from 4:00 to 4:30 PM.  The second will be with the Adult Choir and Mr. Tremblay (trumpet) and will take place on Thursday, April 2 at 7:00 PM.  Both rehearsals will be held in the Choir Loft in the Upper ChurchYour child will be required to attend BOTH rehearsals in order to participate in the Mass.
Singing with the choir is a wonderful opportunity to participate and actively engage in the Palm Sunday Mass.  We will require a minimum of 20 children so please graciously consider this with your child.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at (508) 331-4480 or vkiejzo@sacredheartmilford.org.
Our Mission Statement
Guided by the Spirit of God, the Roman Catholic parish family of Sacred Heart of Jesus celebrates a living faith in Jesus Christ.  As a people of God we are committed to worship in the Eucharist, to prayer and to an awareness of the needs of local and global communities as the gospel message instructs us.  We direct our efforts to promote excellence in the Catholic tradition of education at all levels.  We are diligent and responsible in maintaining sound financial and physical resources to meet current and future obligations.  We strive to see the face of Jesus Christ in every person and to utilize the diversity of gifts present in our parish through collaborative ministries and apostolates
From the pulpit, a message from Fr. Richard

Version:2009-06-30 08:48:00

How fickle the month of June has been for us in New England. With cloudiness, rain and cool temperatures we seem to be retreating from the summer season. Emotions are running high: the tomatoes are unresponsive, flowers have surrendered their showiness to the overwatering from the skies and the mosquitoes are mobilized for successful raids on our human blood supply. Adding to this burden the uncertainties of day to day living find us scaling back, downsizing and hoping for an end to this current economic recession. This picture is not new or unique. It is part of the life cycle - the ordinary rhythms of our lives. These days should invite us to be more reflective of the gifts God has given us to be used lovingly and unselfishly for the benefit of the good neighbor . Since the solemnity feast of Pentecost the Church is encouraged to be a Spirit-filled people in the every day, ordinary time of life. Bringing hope to others is at the heart of our mission. The first disciples of Jesus overcame their fears and anxieties and set out into the world with a lively faith, a boldness of intention and a deep love that brought others closer to Christ. Their mission was often filled with rejection, lackluster results and suspicion. Many suffered the indignity of cruel treatment and death. Buoyed by the Spirit their work was characterized as a privilege, a responsibilty and a sacred duty. During this Year of the Priest, under the patronage of St. John Mary Vianney, I invite all of our parishioners to shoulder the privilege, the responsibility and the sacred duty of our parish way of life. Together we are asked to peel back the tough layer of indifference and cynicism and discover the rich vein of God's love in all. We can do the work together. We must do the work together. For truly we are a blessed People called in the ordinary rhythms of life to do extraordinary things extraordinarily well.
RCIA Program
The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a process whereby those interested in learning about the Catholic faith come together on a weekly basis to learn about the Scriptures and the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, and at the same time, to discover where God is present in their lives.

Milford Catholic Elementary School and Little Angels Acedamy, Education Ministries

Catholic education has been an integral part of the town of Milford for over 125 years. St. Mary’s Grammar School and Sacred Heart Elementary School merged in 1975 and became Milford Catholic Elementary School. Both parishes continue to support the school. In 1990 Little Angels Academy was opened to offer a strong, faith-filled education to 3 and 4 year old children.

Milford Catholic Elementary School offers a challenging academic program rooted in Catholic values. Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies/History, and Religion are part of the core curriculum. Music, Art, Health, and Physical Education are taught weekly by specialty instructors.

Our goal is to educate students in a loving, caring and supportive environment where God’s love is prevalent. Class sizes are small and discipline is consistent, loving and Christian. Students are challenged to make good choices and to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
Prayer is an integral part of the development of each school member. We begin each school day with prayer and end with a blessing. Faculty, staff, students and families come together to celebrate Mass on First Fridays, Holy Days of Obligation, and at other times throughout the year.

We invite all members of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish to visit our school and to consider a Milford Catholic education for their children. Please call (508) 473-7303 or visit www.milfordcatholic.org for more information.
